Did you happen to check out my Initial Washcloth Pattern that was posted a few weeks ago?? It was a cute simple pattern using a graph to make the initial! It could be used as a wash cloth or a hot pad. So, here is the matching Hand Towel Crochet Pattern!

Never used a graph crochet pattern before? No worries…here is a post of how to follow a graph pattern! Please read the pattern notes before attempting the pattern. The graphs were made for the Washcloth Pattern and will need to have 5 extra stitches added to each side for the Hand Towel.

Initial Hand Towel

Material Needed

  • I 5.5mm crochet hook
  • 2 skeins of Lily Sugar N Cream in contrasting colors
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Bobbins or Clips (at least 3)
  • 1 ¾” button

Gauge

  • 4″ Square – 14 stitches x 15 rows

Stitches Used

  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • join – slip stitch to first stitch

Pattern Notes

  • See here how to follow a graph pattern
  • Use bobbins to help with changing colors, described in the post link above
  • Use graph below to make initial of choice. Each graph is 30 st wide by 30 rows, which was made for the Initial Washcloth Pattern. Add 5 extra stitches of the main color to each side of the graph to equal the 40 st across that the pattern calls for.
  • Graph is made with sc stitches, each square is 1 sc.
