Vertical Chevron Beanie Companion Video

Vertical Chevron Beanie Crochet Pattern by Crochet It Creations

The Vertical Chevron Beanie is a fun pattern using 2 Skeins of Caron X Pantone Yarnspirations Yarn found at Michaels Stores. This yarn is a bulky weight #5 and comes in many beautiful colors. It is also super soft, which is perfect for a beanie.

The beanie is a complex pattern using multiple colors at once in a graph to get the chevron look. Although the pattern comes with written instructions and a chart, the testers felt there needed to be more clarification on the joining. Each row is moved left or right by 2 stitches to get the chevron look. Those 2 stitches are moved in the beginning of each row.

That is where the confusion was. You will be slip stitching over and working over slip stitches at times. So, through the confusion came the need for this Companion Video to the Vertical Chevron Beanie Crochet Pattern that can be found HERE. The video is not a full tutorial and will need the pattern to work the beanie.

  1. So I tried to follow your video (which is super detail), but got lost between row 2 and 3. Since you flip the beanie for row 2…did you flip it back to be working from on the right side? I saw the flip for the 2nd row but unsure about the 3rd. I’m still unsure about the 2 slip stitch and chain 1, but mainly the row 2 & 3 are my stuck area.

    1. Hi Hannah! Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, you turn on each row. This pattern is complex but once you get the hang of turning and slip stitches it will all come together. I hope that helps ☺️
