Week 4 is here of the Textured Fun Blanket Crochet Along – the Basket Weave.

The Basket Weave is a fun stitch, that looks just like a basket weave. Just like the rest of the Textured Fun Blanket’s Squares, it uses post stitches to make this texture.

If you are just joining in on the Textured Fun Blanket Crochet Along 2019, see the materials needed and details of the pattern HERE. The previous weeks of the CAL are as follows:

If you are making the throw blanket size then you will need to make 9 of the Basket Weave Squares. If you would like to make another size, see details to the pattern HERE.

Pattern Notes

  • Beginning stitch of each square is made with a chainless starting double crochet (CSDC). This technique eliminates any chaining at the beginning of the row and looks just like a regular double crochet. If this is difficult for you, you may replace with a chain 3 to count as the first stitch.
  • Each square measure approximately 7”
  • The photos of the throw size, making 56 squares in 4 different colors of all the stitch variations.
  • Note that the first 3 squares use a J hook and the last 3 use an I hook
  • 1 skein of Big Twist will make approximately 7 squares

  1. I’m not sure if I fooled something up along the way but the first three patterns are smaller then the basket weave. I’m assuming they are supposed to be the same size?

    1. They should be about the same size, but any slight differences can be corrected with blocking.
